San San
Wetlands are considered the most biologically diverse and fragile of all ecosystems.
That’s why together with German retailer REWE, we have initiated a bio-diversity conservation programme in the San San Pond Sak area (a UNESCO Biosphere) of Panama.
As a first step, we will purchase and donate 120 hectares of pasture land located in the area, to restore the natural habitat. Another objective is the protection of endangered manatees and sea turtles. The San San project will be run in cooperation with the Panamanian authorities and civil society organisations.
